Managing files

 

Steps.

When you click on the  button file in the Editor you will be brought to

managing folder tree.  From here you can navigate up and down the folder tree to a folder.
As in this example the user is clicking on the  yellow “test” folder.

Option 1.

After clicking on the folder icon you will be taken to the /test folder.

From here, you can view the html of the files that are being stored in the test folder.

You can see where you currently are in the folder tree.
You can click on the “Back to previous page” to go back from where you came.

Option 2.

If you click on this icon it will open up and show you the html code to view on that specific page.

Option 3.

Change the permissions on the file with chmod.

 

Here you can change the permissions to the file.

 

 

Option 4.

Move or copy a file

You can also move or copy a file

 

From here you will have a few options.

Choose to copy or Move/rename

Then what directory do you want to copy, move, or rename too.

Option 5.

Delete a file

Click on the trash can icon to delete a file.

In this case we are deleting the rrrtest.php file

 

After clicking on the trash can icon you will be prompted once again to make sure you really want

To delete the file.

Note:  This will permanently delete this file and you will not be able to ever get it back.

 

Option 6.

View a web page

By clicking on the browser icon you can view this page.  It will open up in a new window.

 

Option 7.

Create a new directory (folder)

When you get hnEditor there will be some folders in the application.

You will need to create your own folders to store your web pages in.

Do not delete any directories or files that come with this application as the application will

cease working.

Note:   Just remember a simple rule “What you create you can delete”.

 

In this example we have been working in the /test folder.  If you were to create a directory now,

It would save it in the test folder /test/family.

If this is not where you want to create your folder then you can click on the  parent icon to move

You up one level.

 

Just type in the folder name you want to create and click on the “Go!” button.

You can also get more help on what the icons do by clicking

On the help icon. 

Click on the Help icon to automatically check for the latest version of hnEditor.

You can also log out of hnEditor at any time by clicking on the “Log Out” link

You can go back to the Editor to edit pages at anytime by clicking on the “Back to Editor” link.
